Our team is dedicated to conducting intricate studies on complex diseases, with a primary focus on constructing biological databases through large-scale data integration and mining. Additionally, we develop bioinformatics tools and web servers to assist researchers in analyzing epigenomic, genetic, and regulatory data related to complex diseases. Our research predominantly centers on deciphering genetic variations and epigenetic regulations in human cancers and developmental disorders.

Our team has published several disease-related databases, including RBP-Var (2016), a functional variants database associated with post-transcriptional regulation mediated by RNA-binding proteins; EpiDenovo (2018), a platform linking regulatory de novo mutations to developmental epigenetics and diseases; OncoBase (2019), a platform for decoding regulatory somatic mutations in human cancers; OncoVar(2021), an integrated database and analysis platform for oncogenic driver variants in human cancers; and CRISPRbase (2023), a novel platform that integrated comprehensive information of CRISPR-mediated base editing outcomes in multiple cell types from dozens of species.

Furthermore, we have developed various bioinformatics tools such as MBRidge (2015), a tool for estimating genome-wide single-base methylation levels from MB-seq data combined with RRBS data; PIVar (2020), a deep learning algorithm for identifying posttranscriptionally impaired single nucleotide variants (SNVs); AI-Driver (2020), an ensemble learning method for pinpointing driver mutations in personal cancer genomes; OncoVar (2021), a platform to systematically prioritize the oncogenic ability of somatic mutations and cancer genes. CircleBase (2022), an integrated resource and analysis platform for human extrachromosomal circular DNAs (eccDNAs).
